Book design concept for Joey Frank's forthcoming astrology meets family psychology meets pop culture exploration,
Little Miss Sun Sign
.
The book posits that astrological pairings situated across from eachother on the astrological wheel exemplify characteristics of a figure in a hypothetical six person family. For example, scorpio & taurus embody “the middle child.” Due to this structure, I envisioned seven distinct chapbooks (including an introduction).
Design is a pastiche of advertisements for seers, psychics, & fortune tellers, as well a nod to homespun family therapy practices in Brooklyn brownstones.
